His start in the industry traces back to the 1957 live broadcast of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, where he performed as Prince Christopher alongside Julie Andrews. Beyond his acting contributions, he was an accomplished singer who performed opera in four languages and published a collection of limericks.
