Mahershala Ali is closing the book on his involvement with the Marvel Studios Blade reboot. After years of development setbacks and production delays, the actor stated he is ready to move on from the project and the recurring questions surrounding its future.

In a recent interview, Ali addressed the status of the film with straightforward intent. He noted that despite being under contract for a significant period and training for the role, the studio failed to move forward with the production. He stated that if the studio truly wanted to make the movie, it would have happened.

Ali reflected on his career approach, noting that he prefers to work on original projects that impact audiences. He mentioned that he does not want to define his career through remakes. The actor confirmed he has already shifted his focus toward new work, specifically citing his involvement in the film Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother, which he pursued after the Blade production stalled.

Kevin Feige previously commented on the failed project, expressing personal disappointment regarding the inability to bring the reboot to fruition. With multiple directors exiting and the 2023 writers strike further complicating the timeline, the project reached a standstill. Ali is now distancing himself from the narrative, stating that any further questions regarding the film should be directed to the studio.
