Marvel Studios just pulled the curtain back on the latest look at Avengers: Doomsday during the D23 fan convention. The two-minute clip features Robert Downey Jr. in his new role as the Latverian villain, Doctor Doom. In the footage, he stands against a roster of characters including the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and various members of the X-Men.
Robert Downey Jr. introduced the trailer alongside Chris Evans and Hayley Atwell. The footage shows a confrontation between Doom and Thor, where the villain blocks a strike from Stormbreaker and responds with green energy. The clip also reveals that Doom commands an army of Sentinels to challenge the heroes. This project marks a significant moment for the Marvel Cinematic Universe as it incorporates characters from the former Fox X-Men films, including Patrick Stewart as Professor X and Ian McKellen as Magneto.
The film features a broad ensemble cast, including Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as the Invisible Woman, and returning stars like Paul Rudd, Letitia Wright, and Sebastian Stan. The inclusion of the Thunderbolts, featuring Florence Pugh and David Harbour, rounds out the lineup against this new threat. Fans can expect to see this massive team-up in theaters on December 18.
