The sequel to The Devil Wears Prada is off to a fast start. The film pulled in 15.2 million views within its first five days on Disney+ and Hulu. This performance marks the biggest live-action movie premiere for the Disney streaming platforms since Deadpool & Wolverine in 2024.
The calculation for these numbers involves dividing the total watch time by the film’s 119-minute runtime. While comparisons to Deadpool & Wolverine require context due to the difference in release timing, the results place this sequel at the top of the list for recent studio releases.
This success comes after a profitable run in theaters. The film earned $220.6 million in the U.S. and $691.4 million globally against a $100 million budget. Such high ticket sales combined with strong streaming numbers suggest the movie maintains broad interest well beyond its initial theatrical debut.
Directed by David Frankel, the sequel features the return of Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Stanley Tucci, and Emily Blunt. They are joined by a new cast including Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Kenneth Branagh, and others. The script relies on characters created by Lauren Weisberger, drawing from her background working at Vogue.
