Adam Sandler is officially back on set for the third installment of the Grown Ups franchise. Production is currently underway, and the star shared a group photo featuring many of the original cast members who defined the first two films.
Fans can look forward to seeing familiar faces return to the screen. Sandler posted an image from a restaurant table that includes Chris Rock, Kevin James, David Spade, Rob Schneider, Salma Hayek, Maya Rudolph, Maria Bello, and his wife, Jackie Sandler. New additions to the cast, such as Bailee Madison and Deon Cole, are also part of the production.
The film is directed by Kyle Newacheck, who is working from a script written by Sandler and Tim Herlihy. While the previous two movies were theatrical releases under Sony's Columbia Pictures, this new chapter arrives via Netflix. This shift makes sense given Sandler’s long-standing production deal with the streaming service, which has already produced more than ten projects.
Like its predecessors, the story centers on a group of childhood friends who reunite during a summer vacation. The franchise has maintained significant commercial appeal over the years, with the original 2010 movie earning roughly 272 million dollars and the 2013 sequel bringing in 247 million dollars worldwide. Production is moving forward as the team recreates the comedic chemistry that fans of the series expect.
