Paramount has officially slated the upcoming supernatural thriller Possession for a June 11, 2027 theatrical release. This new take on the 1981 horror classic features Margaret Qualley and Callum Turner in the lead roles. The film centers on a spy whose domestic life begins to unravel following a request for a divorce.

Directing the project is Parker Finn, known for his work on the hit film Smile. The cast supporting the two leads includes Diego Calva, Madeline Brewer, Emory Cohen, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, and Paul Dano. While specific character details remain under wraps for the supporting actors, production is backed by a team including Roy Lee and Robert Pattinson.

The project will compete for audience attention upon release, as it shares the opening date with the live-action How to Train Your Dragon 2 from Universal. This summer slot marks a key addition to Paramount’s upcoming film slate, which already features several notable projects, including the Johnny Depp-led Ebenezer and the latest installment in the Angry Birds franchise.

Margaret Qualley continues to build her resume following recent appearances in The Substance, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and Poor Things. Meanwhile, Callum Turner joins the production fresh off his work in The Boys in the Boat. Both actors anchor a high-profile production that looks to breathe new life into the psychological thriller genre.
