Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham recently shared a update on his relationship with Stevie Nicks. During an event held on August 6, the 76-year-old musician noted that he and Nicks talk regularly. This marks a shift from the well-documented tension that defined their dynamic for several decades.
The two musicians were both romantic partners and bandmates throughout the rise of the group. Their history includes the successful production of the 1977 album Rumours, which captured the friction of their personal lives. Buckingham acknowledged that the band reached a low point in 2019 following his departure and the subsequent concert tour. He stated that the group was in a difficult position for reasons that caused unhappiness for everyone involved.
According to Buckingham, the process of creating an upcoming Apple TV documentary about the band has played a role in their healing. He described the project as a circular experience that helped the members work through past disagreements. While he did not suggest that a reunion tour is planned, he noted that the band is preparing to celebrate the project early next year.
The pair began mending their communication following the death of their bandmate Christine McVie in 2022. Last year, they also reissued their 1973 album titled Buckingham Nicks on various streaming platforms. As the 50th anniversary of Rumours approaches next year, Buckingham indicated that more information regarding the group may surface.
