Roxette Calls Off 40th Anniversary Tour Dates

Fans hoping to see Roxette live in North America will have to wait longer. Per Gessle announced that the planned 40th anniversary tour is now postponed. Live Nation identified logistics and the rising costs of touring as the primary factors for this decision.

Gessle currently leads the project with singer Lena Philipsson, following the 2019 death of original member Marie Fredriksson. While the news is disappointing for ticket holders, Gessle noted that the United States remains the duo's largest market for streaming. The tour was originally scheduled to feature appearances from 1980s artists Taylor Dayne and Nick Lowe.

The setback arrives during a period of renewed interest for the Swedish pop act. Their hit song It Must Have Been Love recently surpassed one billion views on YouTube, proving the group maintains a massive audience more than three decades after its initial success. While no new dates have been announced yet, the postponement reflects broader financial challenges currently impacting international touring schedules for many established artists.
