Charlie Hunnam is bringing the original cast of Sons of Anarchy back together for a new FX project titled Legends. This meta-thriller features the show’s stars playing versions of themselves. The premise begins at a fan convention where the actors reunite, but the situation turns dangerous as they encounter a real-world threat that forces the group to act as they once did on screen. Hunnam serves as the creator and executive producer alongside showrunner Jonathan Groff.

The cast list includes several original members from the biker drama that concluded in 2014. Ron Perlman, Katey Sagal, Maggie Siff, Mark Boone Junior, Tommy Flanagan, Kim Coates, and Theo Rossi are confirmed to appear. While the show ended over a decade ago, these actors have maintained professional and personal connections throughout the years, often appearing together at public events.

FX Entertainment President Nick Grad noted the network moved forward with the project after reviewing Hunnam’s proposal. The series acts as both a tribute to the original show and a narrative experiment. This production marks a shift for Hunnam, who recently gained critical acclaim and an Emmy nomination for his performance in the Netflix series Monster: The Ed Gein Story.

Production involves FX Productions and 20th Television. The limited series will air on FX and stream on Hulu. While the original series creator Kurt Sutter is not involved in this project, the new show aims to capture the intensity that defined the original run. Additional casting details are expected as production progresses.
