NBC is preparing a new version of its hit singing competition series. The Voice: Celebrity is currently in production and marks the first time the show will air a celebrity-focused season in the United States. This upcoming series features a lineup of music stars, actors, and other public figures who will go head-to-head on the competition stage.
Joe Jonas is joining the cast as a coach. He will work alongside Queen Latifah and country singer Riley Green, both of whom serve as coaches on the show. Keke Palmer is stepping into the role of host for this version of the program. She replaces Carson Daly, who hosted the original series since it premiered in 2011. While Daly is stepping away from hosting duties, he remains active on the show as an executive producer.
Producers intend to change the format for this edition. The season will include a new Voice Boot Camp segment, which provides a look behind the scenes at how contestants prepare for their blind auditions. There is also a dedicated VIP room where competitors watch their fellow performers take the stage. This spinoff is scheduled to debut on NBC in the spring of 2027 and will count as the 31st season of the overall brand.
The production team includes executives from MGM Alternative, Warner Horizon Unscripted Television, and ITV Studios. John de Mol Jr. leads the executive production group, joined by Audrey Morrissey, Mark Burnett, and several others. This shift toward a celebrity-led format reflects a broader strategy to bring popular international spinoff models to a domestic audience. Fans of the franchise can expect the same core elements of the original series mixed with new components meant for the celebrity field.
