Ted Lasso is returning for a fourth season on Apple TV. The show, which originally concluded its third season in 2023, is centered on a new chapter for the characters. The new season shifts focus to an all-female soccer team, the Lady Greyhounds. While the premise changes, core cast members including Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, and Brett Goldstein will reprise their roles. Production faced significant logistical hurdles, including schedule shifts and the need to integrate new talent into the established world of the series. To manage the production load, Sudeikis partnered with Jack Burditt, a veteran of sitcom production, to oversee operations while he maintained the creative vision.

Despite the challenges of filming in the U.K. and managing complex production schedules, the team wrapped filming in January. The creative process involved significant script revisions, mirroring the high-intensity environment Sudeikis experienced during his time at Saturday Night Live. The show remains a massive bet for the platform, following the success of the first three seasons which earned multiple Emmys and became a significant cultural marker during the pandemic years.

Fans can expect the return on August 5. The team behind the show maintains that this new installment captures the spirit of the first season. Sudeikis remains focused on a three-season arc for this new narrative phase.
