The famous Big Bear bald eagle known as Jackie remains in critical condition. The Ojai Raptor Center reports that she is currently unstable following a period of medical care in Ventura County.
Jackie has spent the last three weeks at the center after suffering injuries during a conflict with other eagles. Staff noted she is battling severe anemia, which has placed her health in a precarious state. Her packed cell volume recently dropped to a low of 6 percent, though a slight recovery to 9 percent was observed over the weekend.
