Roseville police and local wildlife officials are currently tracking a bear sighted in a residential area of the city. The animal was spotted Tuesday evening near Foothills Boulevard, specifically between Pleasant Grove and Blue Oaks boulevards.
Authorities believe this animal is the same one seen in neighboring Rocklin earlier that same day. While investigators have yet to confirm the connection between the two reports, they are monitoring the situation closely. As of Wednesday morning, no injuries have been reported, but the animal remains at large.
Police recommend that residents in the area take precautions. Keep pets indoors or on a leash and secure all trash or outdoor food sources. If you encounter the bear, keep your distance. If you believe the bear poses an immediate threat to your safety, call 911.
