Giants president of baseball operations Buster Posey confirmed the decision on Friday. The organization stated that the incident delayed the player's medical treatment timeline and return to the field. The club remains in the process of investigating the specific circumstances surrounding the accident.
Bader signed a two-year deal worth $20.5 million before the current season. He is currently owed approximately $1.42 million for the remainder of the 2026 campaign. The team will withhold these payments until he is cleared to resume his professional responsibilities for the franchise.
This marks the second documented instance of a scooter-related incident for the 32-year-old athlete. He previously dealt with a similar event during his time at the University of Florida in 2014. Before his current injury, Bader struggled on the field this year, hitting .170 with five home runs across 30 games.
