Grandview Speedway kicks off its August schedule this Saturday, August 1, with a high-stakes NASCAR Local Racing Series program. The night features the T.P. Trailers and Truck Equipment Modifieds and Sportsman divisions, along with the return of the fan-favorite Low-Down Throw Down match races.
Ten drivers will compete in the match race segment, comprised of the top seven point leaders and the three fastest drivers from the evening's hot lap sessions. The winner takes home a $500 prize plus additional bonuses, while Jimbo's Exteriors has added a $200 incentive for any driver who finishes the match race series undefeated. Fans can also participate in a pre-race meet and greet session from 5 to 6 pm at the main gate, where they can connect with local drivers Eric Kormann, Dylan Swinehart, Decker Swinehart, and Mark Mohr.
Race day operations begin with pit gates opening at 4 pm, followed by grandstand entry at 5:30 pm. Warm-ups start at 6:15 pm, and the green flag drops on the first event at 7:30 pm. Adult grandstand tickets cost $20, while students aged 10-15 are $10 and children 9 and under enter for free. Pit admission is set at $35 for NASCAR members and $45 for non-members.
The competition remains fierce at the track. In the Modified division, nine different drivers have secured victories this season, including multiple-win leaders Louden Reimert and Jeff Strunk. Meanwhile, the Sportsman division shows similar parity, with ten different winners recorded so far. Point leaders Eddie Strada and Colin Cox are expected to lead the field as they look to defend their standings against a deep roster of over three dozen competitors.
Looking ahead, the track prepares for the 56th annual Forrest Rogers Memorial on August 8. This championship event features a 50-lap Modified race with a $10,000 winner's purse. The following week, August 15, marks the Back to the 90s Night, offering reduced $10 grandstand admission and a Kid’s Money Scramble.
