The Team Penske driver dominated the 0.625-mile short track, leading 321 laps to secure his 38th career Cup Series victory. It marks a significant turnaround for Logano, who started the weekend 17th in points and under the postseason cutline.
Logano made his move to the front during the second stage, passing Shane van Gisbergen and maintaining control for the remainder of the event. Despite pressure from a group of Joe Gibbs Racing Toyotas, including Denny Hamlin and Chase Briscoe, the No. 22 Ford held steady through heavy lapped traffic. This victory officially places Logano back in the hunt for the postseason Chase as the circuit heads toward the final five races of the regular season.
The atmosphere at the historic North Carolina track was intense as the Cup Series returned for its first points-paying race at the venue since 1996. Crew chief Paul Wolfe noted that the team focused on execution, citing the track's short-track nature as a historical strength for the driver. For Logano, the win serves as a necessary momentum shift with upcoming races at Indianapolis and other tracks where he has recorded strong finishes.
While Logano controlled the front, other drivers dealt with significant challenges. Pole-sitter Ryan Blaney fought back from two separate trips to the rear of the pack, eventually finishing 11th. Other competitors, including Josh Berry and AJ Allmendinger, were sidelined due to mechanical failure and contact throughout the 450-lap event. The series now shifts its focus to the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway next weekend.
