NASCAR Hall of Famer Rusty Wallace is bringing his racing experience to the dirt. Progressive American Flat Track officially named the 1989 Cup Series champion as the Grand Marshal for the Caterpillar Jackpine Gypsies Short Track event. This race takes place on August 10 at the South Dakota track during the 86th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
Wallace is a long-time motorcycle rider who brings 55 career Cup Series victories and a deep appreciation for the sport to the event. He will spend time with fans and competitors at the historic Jackpine Gypsies Motorcycle Club before the race begins. The event marks the second half of a doubleheader week of racing in South Dakota.
Beyond the role of Grand Marshal, Wallace is supporting charitable efforts. He will host the Rusty Wallace Charity Ride presented by Harley-Davidson on August 14 in Deadwood, South Dakota. Proceeds from this ride go to The NASCAR Foundation and the Special Olympics of South Dakota.
Fans who cannot attend the race in person have options to watch the action from home. FloRacing provides live streaming for the event, while FOX Sports covers the series with television segments throughout the season. Tickets for the short track event are available online for those planning to join the rally.
