Former Michigan Basketball guard L.J. Cason has announced his transfer destination. After one season with the Wolverines, the Florida native is heading home to join the University of Miami.

Cason arrived at Michigan following head coach Dusty May from Florida Atlantic. He served as a reserve option during his freshman campaign, playing in 30 games. He saw his role increase this past season, appearing in 28 games while averaging over 18 minutes per contest. His season ended early in February due to an ACL tear sustained against Illinois.

Michigan head coach Mike Boynton Jr. now faces a roster adjustment regarding the point guard rotation. While Elliot Cadeau remains the established starter, the coaching staff must determine how to allocate minutes among the remaining guards. Trey McKenney, Brandon McCoy Jr., and freshman Joseph Hartman represent the primary depth options for the upcoming season.
