Steve Robinson Joins Men’s Basketball Staff

Elon University men's basketball head coach Billy Taylor has appointed Steve Robinson as Special Assistant to the Head Coach. Robinson brings 42 years of collegiate experience to the program.

Over the course of his career, Robinson helped secure three national championships and made eight Final Four appearances. He served as an assistant coach at Arizona for four seasons and spent 18 years on the coaching staff at North Carolina under Roy Williams. His resume includes stops at Tulsa and Florida State where he served as a head coach.

During his time at the Division I level, Robinson helped recruit and develop over 60 NBA players. This list includes notable names such as Paul Pierce, Danny Green, and Harrison Barnes. His background in player development is expected to provide value to the current Phoenix roster and coaching staff.

Robinson returns to basketball after a one-year hiatus from coaching. His arrival marks a notable addition for the Elon program as they prepare for the upcoming season.
