Former NFL guard Jordan Devey has passed away at the age of 38. His family confirmed he died by suicide on Tuesday. Devey played in the league for seven seasons, including stints with the New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers, and Buffalo Bills.
During his time in the league, Devey appeared in 44 games with 21 starts. He was part of the 2014 New England Patriots roster that won the Super Bowl. After his professional career ended in 2021, he remained out of the public spotlight.
His wife, Linsey, shared that he passed just days before their 15th wedding anniversary. He is survived by his wife, his parents, and their four children. A fundraising page established by his family noted the difficulty of this time as they begin to process this loss.
His mother, Leslie, mentioned to local media that the family suspected Devey lived with CTE. However, they confirmed that an examination for the condition will not be possible due to the circumstances of his death. The family continues to ask for privacy as they mourn his passing.
