Sources: Wife of Chiefs' Eric Bieniemy shot at couple's home

Reports confirm that Mia Bieniemy, wife of Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, was shot Sunday night at their home in Loudoun County, Virginia. She is currently hospitalized with serious injuries after the incident occurred at approximately 7:32 p.m. ET.

Local authorities in Loudoun County responded to the scene at a residence on Northpark Drive in Ashburn. While police have verified that a person is receiving medical treatment for serious wounds, they have not publicly released the identity of the victim beyond confirmation of the event.

Eric Bieniemy was in St. Joseph, Missouri, at the time of the event. He had participated in the team’s training camp practice at Missouri Western State earlier on Sunday. The Kansas City Chiefs organization released a brief statement confirming they are aware of the situation involving the family of their offensive coordinator.

Bieniemy returned to the Chiefs organization earlier this year to resume his role as offensive coordinator, the same position he held with the team from 2018 to 2022.
