Israeli startup Qedma is addressing this through a new integration with the Quantinuum platform. By deploying Qedma's error mitigation software, users can now improve circuit fidelity and run more ambitious simulations without changing their underlying quantum hardware.
The software, known as QESEM, works by characterizing and suppressing errors in quantum output. This allows the system to produce more reliable results for commercial and scientific research. Asif Sinay, the CEO of Qedma, noted that his team joined the Quantinuum Startup Partner Program to push algorithms beyond the capabilities of classical computers. Early tests show that the software effectively improves performance on demanding workloads.
Quantinuum provides a full-stack platform that currently serves sectors like finance, pharmaceutical development, and materials science. By opening its ecosystem to startups like Qedma, the company aims to speed up the transition of quantum technology into practical applications. Jennifer Strabley, a vice president at Quantinuum, emphasized that this partnership provides users with the necessary tools to handle complex computational problems.
Qedma was founded by Asif Sinay, Dorit Aharonov, and Netanel Lindner. Aharonov is a noted researcher in the field who contributed to the early concepts of quantum fault tolerance. The company focuses on hardware-independent solutions that make quantum machines more accessible for real-world tasks. This collaboration marks a significant step in the effort to make quantum computing stable enough for day-to-day industrial research.
