The fastest U.S. mobile and internet services of 2026: How did your provider do?
The latest U.S. Speedtest Connectivity Report from Ookla provides a clear look at how mobile and internet providers performed during the first half of 2026. T-Mobile holds the top spot for mobile performance. The company secured the title of fastest mobile network and fastest 5G network in the country. Their median download speed reached 275.55 Mbps, and they claimed the top speed position in 47 U.S. states.
While T-Mobile leads in speed and consumer sentiment, Verizon and AT&T maintain a stronger position regarding overall coverage. Users reported a higher level of satisfaction with T-Mobile, giving the provider an average of 3.77 out of five stars compared to lower ratings for its competitors.
In the fixed internet category, the results show a different landscape. AT&T Fiber emerged as the leader with a median download speed of 374.75 Mbps. This provider also ranked as the most consistent fixed network and earned the highest consumer ratings in that sector with a 3.63 score.
Verizon remains competitive by offering the best fixed internet gaming experience. Ookla analyzed latency, jitter, and throughput to determine these rankings, and Verizon edged out AT&T Fiber by a narrow margin in gaming performance. These findings reflect the broader trends in connectivity across the United States as providers continue to compete for performance supremacy.
