Five men are in custody following a multi-agency undercover operation in Mesa County. Law enforcement officers, including members of the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office, Grand Junction Police Department, and federal partners, concluded a three-day effort to target individuals using the internet to solicit minors for sexual activity.
The suspects, identified as Eric Muesch, Marlin Alvarez Carcamo, Alejandro Vazquez Bonilla, Robert Callaway, and Alex Knoll, were booked into the Mesa County Detention Facility. Each individual faces multiple felony charges related to sexual assault and solicitation of a child for commercial sexual activity. These arrests stem from a concerted effort by local and state authorities alongside Homeland Security Investigations to remove predators from the area.
Law enforcement maintains that these crimes remain a top priority and will not be tolerated within the community. While the investigation has led to these specific arrests, officials remind the public that charges are allegations. All defendants currently hold the presumption of innocence as the legal process moves forward through the 21st Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
