More than 750 households and local businesses in Buchanan now have access to high-speed internet. Comcast officially confirmed the completion of this infrastructure project on August 11, 2026. This expansion brings new connectivity options to residents in the area, offering a replacement or alternative for existing services.
Town Manager Tim Mack noted the importance of this investment for the local community. He stated that the presence of another provider provides residents and businesses with necessary choices for high-speed internet and mobile services. Reliable connectivity remains a key requirement for modern daily life.
This project in Buchanan is part of a broader push by the company to improve infrastructure across the region. Several other locations in Virginia are currently seeing active construction efforts to connect more users. For instance, projects are underway in Bedford to reach 4,500 locations and in Radford where nearly 10,000 homes are part of the expansion plan.
Additional network upgrades are also moving forward in Campbell County, where 7,700 users now have access to services. Construction crews are also active in Caroline County and Forest to increase the availability of high-speed connections for thousands of additional homes.
