Google has released Android 17 QPR1 Beta 8 for Pixel device owners. While testing for the subsequent QPR2 release is already underway, this specific update focuses on refining the QPR1 branch before its scheduled stable launch in September.
The update carries build number CP31.260623.010 and is compatible with a wide range of devices, starting from the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro through the current Pixel 10 series and the Pixel 10a. This release marks another step in the stabilization phase, as the platform reached stability milestones back in Beta 6.
Four primary technical issues are resolved in this package. Users who previously encountered audio corruption or static during media playback should see improvements, as Google addressed a bug within the audio framework buffer management. The update also fixes a connectivity problem with the Pixel Tablet Speaker Dock, which frequently failed to maintain a connection.
Two other critical functional fixes are included. An NFC service regression that prevented tags from reading data or launching URLs is corrected. Additionally, a recurring issue where fingerprint authentication failed to trigger during device unlock is now resolved. The update carries a security patch level of July 5, 2026.
For those enrolled in the Android Beta Program, this update is pushed directly to devices via the standard over-the-air method.
