Google Wallet rolls out built-in order tracking with Gmail on Android

Google Wallet now features built-in order tracking for users in the United States. By connecting to your Gmail inbox, the application pulls detailed receipts, tracking numbers, and current shipping status directly into your digital wallet interface. This new functionality sits beneath the existing payment carousel on the app homepage. When you tap a specific order, you get a full view of your transaction history including price information and a list of items purchased.

The system offers a dedicated section for these transactions where you can filter between standard Google Pay activity and specific package orders. Many major US retailers are supported out of the gate, and the integration includes tracking for purchases made within the Google Play store. Smaller merchants may not appear immediately depending on their email receipt format.

To activate this feature, you must ensure that your Gmail account settings allow smart features in other Google products. Once that permission is granted, selecting a payment card prompts you to re-authenticate via your Google account. After this initial setup, your order data populates the wallet automatically. This update also allows for syncing this information to your Wear OS device for convenient access on the go.
