Achieving these dimensions required a move away from isolated component updates toward a full system-level architecture that links the display, battery, and internal cooling.

The core of this design is the new Flex Titanium component. By combining a titanium plate with a titanium-alloy film, engineers created a structure that provides both rigidity and necessary flexibility. The plate utilizes a lattice pattern that maintains structural integrity under pressure while remaining thin enough to support the device's reduced profile. This specific change resulted in a 10 percent reduction in the total display module thickness.

This saved space directly impacts the hardware layout, allowing Samsung to house a 5,000mAh battery alongside an 8-inch main display. Rather than sacrificing capacity for form factor, the internal configuration shifts allowed for denser packaging. The hinge and internal thermal systems were redesigned in tandem with the display, ensuring the device remains capable of handling daily wear.
