Bigscreen Adjusts Pricing and Hardware Availability

Bigscreen has permanently lowered the price of its Beyond 2 PC VR headset to $959. This marks a decrease from the previous $1,019 price point. The company also reduced the cost of the Beyond 2e model, which includes onboard eye-tracking, to $1,159 from $1,219. These changes come despite broader market trends of rising component costs and inflation that have pressured hardware manufacturers across the industry.

The standard Beyond 2 package now includes the Universal-Fit Cushion. This thin silicone light seal provides both soft and firm options for users. Bigscreen introduced this component in November 2025 as a more accessible alternative to the custom facial interfaces that required precise iPhone facial scans at the product’s initial launch in June 2025. By moving to a universal design, the company simplified the manufacturing pipeline for its core headset line.

Halo Mount Production and Shipping Updates

Bigscreen confirmed that production of its Halo Mount has resumed. The company faced a series of setbacks regarding this accessory, beginning with negative feedback from early testers late last year. A subsequent design adjustment to the device’s "sledge link" component forced further delays in June. The Halo Mount remains a critical component for many users as it helps distribute the 107-gram headset weight across the head for long-term comfort.

Manufacturing for the Halo Mount is currently accelerating. The company expects the highest volume of units to ship throughout October. It plans to clear the existing preorder backlog by November. According to the company, once production reaches this stable state, customers can expect these mounts to ship within 1-2 business days of placing an order. Engineering teams report that no further design changes are required for the current iteration.

Market Conditions and Inventory Challenges

Recent high demand coupled with a delayed freight shipment impacted product availability for both the Beyond 2 and 2e. Some orders currently leave the warehouse on the same day they are placed, but other customers may face wait times of up to two weeks. Bigscreen anticipates returning to its standard 1-2 business day shipping window for all headset models by September 14th.

The Beyond 2 continues to target the enthusiast PC VR market with its 2,560 by 2,560 per-eye resolution and 116-degree diagonal field of view. It operates using SteamVR tracking systems, requiring separate base stations. While the hardware caters to a specific niche of power users, the price drop signals a shift in how the company manages margins on its specialized, low-profile displays. The ongoing demand for lightweight PC-tethered units remains steady, even as standalone mobile headsets dominate the broader consumer market.
