Pico has officially confirmed the name and debut date for its upcoming flagship virtual reality headset. The device, now identified as the Pico Space Pro, is scheduled to make its formal appearance at a special event in Beijing on September 2.
Industry reports indicate this hardware is the project previously tracked as Project Swan. The company first teased development in March, and the upcoming launch marks the shift from internal prototype to a commercial product. While exact pricing and regional availability remain under wraps until the event, the company usually provides English-language coverage for these product unveilings.
The hardware specifications suggest a push toward high-fidelity visual performance. Early details indicate the use of microOLED displays capable of reaching 4,000 pixels per inch. The engineering team expects to deliver an average of approximately 40 pixels per degree for visual clarity.
Performance under the hood relies on a dual-chip architecture. One custom silicon component handles perception and imaging tasks with a target latency of 12 milliseconds. A separate primary processor provides more than double the computing power found in current flagship mobile XR chipsets. Pico plans to provide more concrete data on market release schedules and pricing during the September presentation.
