Influencer killed by husband after she accused him of pedophilia on TikTok
Sara Gilson, a social media influencer with over 30,000 followers, was killed in a murder-suicide on Thursday in Collinsville, Oklahoma. Police confirmed her death shortly after she made public allegations regarding her estranged husband, Jeremiah Duffey.
Evidence shows that Gilson filed an emergency protective order against Duffey on June 10. This filing followed reports that Duffey had been accused of molesting a minor during a youth basketball event. Gilson documented her situation on social media in July, posting a video that explicitly accused Duffey of pedophilia. Police had been searching for Duffey following the initial molestation accusations.
Authorities arrived at a residence late Thursday after dispatchers received a 911 call capturing the sounds of a disturbance and a gunshot. Upon entry, investigators discovered both Gilson and Duffey dead from apparent gunshot wounds to the head. A child of the victim placed the emergency call from a neighbor's home.
Law enforcement indicates that the incident remains under active investigation. Gilson is survived by two children who are now in protective care. The events highlight the dangerous intersection of domestic violence and public disclosure in the digital age.
