TIME and Statista have released the 2026 ranking for the best startup incubators and accelerators in the United States. This list identifies top-tier organizations that provide essential support for new ventures. The researchers based these findings on a rigorous process that prioritized the direct experiences of program alumni alongside verified performance data.
The research cycle began in early 2026 with an open application window supported by InBIA. To qualify for consideration, each organization had to maintain a physical presence in the United States and show a history of operations dating back to at least 2022. Once the applicant pool was finalized, Statista reached out to thousands of startup founders who graduated from these programs between 2020 and 2025 to gather feedback on their experiences.
Alumni provided scores on six key service areas including mentoring, legal assistance, and infrastructure. They also offered a general recommendation rating. This feedback forms the foundation of the final ranking, accounting for 85 percent of the total score. The remaining 15 percent of the weight comes from documented track records of the startups supported by these hubs and recommendations provided by industry experts, investors, and fellow entrepreneurs.
This methodology ensures that the list reflects both the practical value provided to founders and the long-term success of the businesses involved. By focusing on metrics like funding opportunities and business development advice, the report offers a clear look at which organizations currently provide the most value to the American innovation ecosystem.
