Marvel is finally reuniting Eddie Brock and Venom after five years
Marvel Comics announced a significant shift for its ongoing series at San Diego Comic-Con 2026. After a five-year separation, Eddie Brock and the Venom symbiote are reuniting to headline the upcoming Venom Volume 7. This change marks a return to the core dynamic that defined the character for decades.
Writer Charles Soule will lead the creative team, joined by artist Tommaso Bianchi. Soule has significant experience with the character, having written the recent limited series Queen in Black: Venom Unchained and the Eddie Brock: Carnage title. The publisher describes the new series as a push for Eddie to serve as the ultimate host for the symbiote while navigating a world where he remains more at odds with other super heroes than with traditional villains.
This launch replaces the previous status quo for the character. While Eddie Brock returns to his role as Venom, Mary Jane Watson is transitioning to her own title titled Friendly Neighborhood Mary Jane. Marvel confirmed that the first issue of the new Venom series will arrive in stores this October.
Fans can look for these issues at local comic shops beginning this fall. The move represents a clear effort by Marvel to consolidate its storytelling focus on the original bond between Brock and his alien counterpart.
