Disney kicked off its D23 fan event in Anaheim with a series of major announcements for both Marvel and Star Wars. The studio released the debut trailer for VisionQuest, which serves as the final chapter in the trilogy following WandaVision and Agatha All Along. Paul Bettany returns as the rebooted Vision, now on the run with a mysterious boy who may be his son. The series is set to premiere on Disney+ on October 14, 2026.
Star Wars fans also received updates regarding the second season of Ahsoka, which is currently scheduled for a January 20, 2027 release. The upcoming season continues the story of Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren beyond the known galaxy as they confront the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn. Meanwhile, a trailer for LEGO Star Wars: The Mandalorian provided a look at the comedic retelling of the live-action series, arriving on September 2, 2026.
Marvel Studios also shared new footage from Avengers: Doomsday. The film brings together heroes from three different universes including Earth-616 and the Fantastic Four to face Victor von Doom. The studio also confirmed casting for the upcoming X-Men reboot. Christopher Abbott joins as Professor X, with Sadie Sink playing a young Jean Grey. The film is set for a 2028 release.
Finally, attendees saw exclusive footage of Star Wars: Starfighter, directed by Shawn Levy and starring Ryan Gosling. Set five years after The Rise of Skywalker, the film explores an entirely new corner of the franchise. It will hit theaters on May 28, 2027, marking the 50th anniversary of the original film.
