Marvel Studios officially announced the cast for its upcoming X-Men reboot during the D23 fan event on Friday. The film is scheduled for release on May 5, 2028, and features a new ensemble cast intended to refresh the long-running franchise.

The lineup includes Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, and Maya Boyd as Storm. Adam Driver is also attached to the project, cast as the villain Mr. Sinister. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige noted that this list does not represent the full roster of characters appearing in the film.

This production serves as a departure from the previous X-Men films produced by Fox. Several actors from the earlier series, such as Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, remain part of the broader Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in other upcoming projects like Avengers: Doomsday. This new reboot focuses on a younger generation of characters to anchor the future of the mutant narrative within the studio's current timeline.

Adam Driver mentioned that he and Kevin Feige held discussions regarding his involvement with the studio for years before landing on this specific character. The casting decisions reflect a strategic shift for Marvel, as the studio continues to integrate the X-Men properties more directly into its current slate of films. Audiences can expect more information on the production as the release date approaches.
