Beach Boys Call Off Remainder of Summer Concerts ‘to Recharge’ Before Resuming in Fall
The Beach Boys have announced a pause to their current tour schedule. The group, led by Mike Love, is canceling or postponing nearly 30 dates originally planned for this summer. These changes affect shows starting July 23 and running through September 3. The band states the hiatus is necessary to recharge before returning to the road later in the year.
Fans holding tickets for the affected performances should note that tickets will be honored for rescheduled dates or can be managed through local box offices. The tour is slated to resume on September 24 at The Big E in West Springfield, Massachusetts. Current plans show 11 concerts confirmed for the fall and beyond, including several rescheduled appearances.
The group has maintained a high volume of touring activity for years. Recent performances, including the Independence Day shows at the Hollywood Bowl, saw Mike Love, 85, fronting the band alongside guests such as John Stamos and Christian Love. The decision to break follows the retirement of original member Bruce Johnston earlier this year. Meanwhile, Al Jardine continues to perform Beach Boys music with his own separate band, which will step in for at least one previously scheduled date in Oregon.
This gap in the touring schedule marks a significant shift for a group known for its consistent presence on stage.
