BTS member V recently shared a health update with his fans during a live broadcast. The artist stated he is currently receiving treatment for hearing loss in his right ear. He mentioned that his hearing in that ear is now at roughly one-third of the level in his left ear.
V, whose real name is Kim Tae-hyung, explained that he initially dismissed the symptoms as a minor issue related to mental fortitude. However, the condition persisted and worsened during his military service, which he completed between 2023 and June 2025. He is now attending regular hospital appointments and following a medication plan to manage the situation.
This disclosure occurred while the group is in the middle of their Arirang World Tour. The tour began in South Korea in April and serves as the first major outing for all seven members since they returned from their respective military service stints. Following recent performances in Baltimore, the group has upcoming tour dates scheduled in Los Angeles, Buenos Aires, Bangkok, Sydney, and Hong Kong.
Fellow member Jungkook also addressed his own physical challenges during the same livestream. He noted that he is currently dealing with a shin injury that requires careful management to prevent a stress fracture. The group remains committed to the tour, balancing their health needs with the rigors of a global performance schedule.
