KMOV Channel 32.1 to be the new home of the ABC Television Network, expanding local news coverage in St. Louis
KMOV Channel 32.1 in St. Louis will become the local home of the ABC Television Network starting September 1, 2026. This move connects the station with ABC programming while adding significant hours of local news coverage to the broadcast schedule. KMOV plans to use its First Alert 4 news team to fill gaps where local coverage was previously absent in the market.
JD Sosnoff, Vice President and General Manager of KMOV, stated that this decision serves as a commitment to local journalism and community service. The station intends to provide dedicated newscasts, investigative reports, and real-time weather updates during time slots aligned with the new network content. This expansion aims to give St. Louis viewers access to high-quality local reports during daytime and prime hours.
Viewers will be able to receive this content over the air on channel 32.1 and through their existing cable, satellite, or streaming providers. KMOV will publish a full programming schedule in the coming weeks. This adjustment marks a shift in the regional media landscape, as KMOV integrates its established local reporting strength with the ABC network brand.
