Peacock has confirmed the release date for its upcoming comedy series Dig. The show is set to premiere on November 23 and consists of 10 episodes. This project marks a reunion for Amy Poehler and Mike Schur, who previously collaborated on the sitcom Parks and Rec. The story draws inspiration from Kate Myers’ novel Excavations.
The plot centers on a group of archaeologists and college students working at a dig site in Greece. During their summer at the site, they uncover a rare artifact that triggers a significant adventure. Amy Poehler takes on the role of a lead archaeologist, while Hugh Laurie portrays Neville, a British professor dedicated to the field.
Laurie’s character, Neville, acts as a mentor to the group while attempting to maintain the traditional standards of archaeology. The cast includes Geraldine Viswanathan, Antonia Thomas, Fina Strazza, Kayvan Novak, Jon Pointing, and Bonita Friedericy.
Beyond her performance on screen, Poehler serves as an executive producer for the series. The show is produced by several entities including Fremulon, Paper Kite, and 3 Arts. The first-look images released today highlight the ensemble cast in their respective roles as they navigate the dig site in Greece.
