NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series contender Chandler Smith is headed to Chattanooga this week to build anticipation for the upcoming Bass Pro Shops Night Race weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway.
On August 6, Smith will appear at the Food City location on 1375 Broad Street. Fans are invited to meet the driver starting at 4 p.m. Attendees can also pick up Bristol Motor Speedway-themed cake slices provided by the store during the event.
Smith, a native of Talking Rock, Georgia, drives the No. 38 Ford for Front Row Motorsports. He currently holds a strong position in the standings, sitting third overall with two wins this season, including a victory at North Wilkesboro Speedway in July. His visit serves as a preview for the UNOH 250 race at Bristol, an event where he has previously found success with two career wins.
Following his engagement at the store, Smith will head to the ballpark to throw the ceremonial first pitch at the Chattanooga Lookouts game against the Knoxville Smokies. This appearance is part of a wider media tour leading up to the busy racing schedule at Bristol.
