Blue Jackets sign goaltender Jet Greaves to 3-year, $15M deal
The Columbus Blue Jackets have secured their goaltending future by signing Jet Greaves to a three-year contract extension. The deal keeps the 25-year-old in Columbus through the 2028-29 season with a total value of $15 million.
General manager Don Waddell praised the goaltender for his work ethic and athleticism. Greaves earned his new contract after a standout performance last season where he recorded 26 wins. He became just the fifth goaltender in the history of the franchise to reach that win total in a single season.
His statistical impact remains clear. Greaves posted a 2.60 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage across 55 games last year. These numbers establish him as a reliable anchor for the team as they look toward the upcoming season. Beyond his club success, Greaves recently represented Canada at the 2026 IIHF World Championships in Switzerland, where he secured six wins.
Since his NHL debut at the end of the 2022-23 season, Greaves has accumulated 76 career appearances. He currently holds a career record of 36-28-11 with four shutouts to his credit. The front office appears confident that his trajectory will continue to trend upward as he takes on this expanded role.
