Sharks add Trouba, Nurse to fortify defense, seek offense from Marchment

Management secured Jacob Trouba on a four-year contract to stabilize the right side of the top defensive pairing. Darnell Nurse joins the roster via a trade with Edmonton, bringing a physical presence and a history of high shot-blocking numbers. These additions reflect a strategy to reduce time spent in the defensive zone and allow the roster to push the pace more effectively. The team also secured Michael Kesselring, who provides further depth to the defensive rotation.

Offensively, the spotlight remains on Macklin Celebrini, who dominated scoring last season. With Yaroslav Askarov anchoring the goaltending position, the team enters training camp with a clear objective. General manager Mike Grier stated the roster is improved over last year, though the final results depend on how these new pieces integrate. Players like Igor Chernyshov and Quentin Musty are also pushing for full-time roles, creating internal competition that the organization hopes will lead to a return to the postseason.
