Samsung has introduced the new Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2 at the July 2026 Galaxy Unpacked event. The Galaxy Watch9 focuses on daily health tracking with a slimmer profile and a new band design. It is powered by the Snapdragon Wear Elite platform and features a 390mAh battery, providing a 20% increase in capacity compared to previous models.
The updated Samsung Health app serves as the core interface for these devices. It integrates data across five pillars: activity, mindfulness, nutrition, sleep, and vitals. A new addition to the Nutrition Alert feature includes hydration guidance, which calculates sweat loss based on body weight to suggest appropriate fluid intake during workouts.
Sleep tracking receives significant updates, including a refined sleep apnea detection feature. The device uses an AI algorithm to analyze breathing disruptions. Meanwhile, the Vitals feature tracks heart rate, respiratory rate, skin temperature, and blood oxygen levels to establish personalized health baselines.
Fitness features include the new Heart Health Score, which aggregates activity, body composition, and stress data into a single metric. For those engaged in training, the Fitness Index assesses exercise volume while Daily Cardio Load helps manage training recovery. These tools aim to offer users clear snapshots of their cardiovascular and physical condition.
