Public beta 2 for iPadOS 27 and more arrives with these new features
Apple has released public beta 2 for iPadOS 27, alongside updates for tvOS 27 and HomePod 27. These releases follow the developer beta 4 launch earlier this week, aligning public testing versions with the current developer builds. Users interested in testing these features before the official fall launch can enroll in the free program through the official Apple website.
Key additions in this release include a new automatic download option for the Apple TV app, which ensures offline access to latest show episodes. Siri now offers customizable preview text lines for chat history. Control Center modifications allow users to personalize Adaptive mode for AirPods. The Photos application has gained a zoom setting that allows images to fill the display area.
Beyond these specific feature tweaks, the update contains standard system refinements and bug corrections. Splash screens for Siri AI and core system applications have also been updated as part of the preparations for the final release. Apple uses a staggered release schedule between developer and public versions to ensure major stability issues are identified and addressed early.
Those currently running the developer beta 4 do not need to take any action, as these public beta builds match the existing software. New participants can install these updates through the Software Update menu in Settings once they have completed the enrollment process online.
