Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2026: The 6 biggest announcements
Samsung held its Galaxy Unpacked event this week with several hardware updates hitting the market. The most notable release is the Galaxy Z Fold 8, which features a wider design compared to its predecessor. This model includes a 7.6-inch inner screen and a 5.5-inch outer display, moving away from the narrower dimensions of previous years.
The company also introduced an Ultra version of the Fold to its current lineup. All new foldable devices, including the updated Z Flip 8, now use Flex Titanium display technology. While this does not remove the screen crease, it makes the display indentation less visible than on older generations.
Under the hood, the Z Fold 8 runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. It supports up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The camera system features a 50MP wide lens and a 50MP ultra wide lens.
Beyond the phones, Samsung also refreshed its smartwatch lineup. These updates align with the company's focus on battery performance and hardware refinement for the 2026 product cycle. Samsung remains committed to its foldable strategy, adjusting dimensions and materials to appeal to users who prefer a wider, more traditional smartphone screen feel.
