Pine Studio has released an open beta for the VR mode of Escape Simulator 2. Players can access this early build directly through the open_beta branch on Steam. The developer is currently gathering feedback from the community to improve the experience before the full release of the VR features.

While the core mechanics and official escape rooms are currently playable, the build remains in an early testing phase. Some features remain absent or require further work. For instance, players will not see their own hands or character models during this testing period. Community-created rooms are also not supported in this version of the beta.

Escape Simulator 2 released in October of last year and maintains a strong reception among users. The game features physics-based puzzles, expanded environments, and improved multiplayer support compared to the first installment. The team aims to leverage this period of testing to refine how those mechanics translate into a virtual space.

Those interested in testing the current build can purchase the game on Steam. It is currently available at a 20 percent discount, bringing the price to 15.99 dollars. No specific date for the full launch of VR support is set, but the current beta represents the next step for the title.
