These XR Glasses Want to Be the Monitor You Wear All Day - Kickstarter Coming August 4th
Unseen Reality is preparing for the August 4th Kickstarter launch of its new XR glasses, the URXR One. These glasses aim to replace traditional computer monitors for people who want a portable, personal display setup. Weighing 93 grams, the hardware uses pancake optics and micro-OLED displays to project virtual screens that scale from laptop size up to 200 inches.
The device functions as a spatial headset rather than standard birdbath AR glasses. It relies on four forward-facing cameras for tracking and supports both 3DOF and 6DOF modes. This allows users to either pin virtual screens in their physical space or keep them locked to their field of view. The display offers a 2,448 x 2,064 resolution per eye at a 90 Hz refresh rate.
Connectivity is handled via USB-C DisplayPort. Most modern laptops and gaming handhelds can power the glasses directly. For smartphones that lack sufficient power output, the company offers an optional Power Hub. This accessory contains a 10,000 mAh battery that provides three hours of usage while also charging the host phone.
The initial Kickstarter price is set at $800, which is a $100 discount from the intended retail price. Shipping is scheduled for mid-October 2026. The glasses include manual IPD adjustment and support for custom prescription lens inserts to accommodate different users.
By focusing on display replacement, Unseen Reality targets professionals and gamers who require multiple virtual monitors without the physical desk space. The hardware relies on external devices for processing, keeping the glasses themselves lightweight for longer sessions.
