Makers Fund has officially raised $250 million for its fourth investment round, dedicated to supporting startups in the games and interactive entertainment sectors. This latest capital injection brings the firm’s total assets under management to $1.5 billion. Founded in 2016, the firm has established a track record of identifying high-growth potential, most notably with its early investment in the mobile developer Dream Games. That exit provided returns of 3.6 times the invested capital, underscoring the firm’s ability to pinpoint startups that scale successfully within competitive markets.

While gaming remains a primary focus, Makers Fund is expanding its scope to include consumer applications, creation platforms, and broader entertainment ventures. The firm previously backed FaceIt before its acquisition and continues to support companies like Voldex, a top publisher on the Roblox platform. The firm also shows interest in generative AI applications, having invested in PixAI and Medal.tv to address changing user behaviors and distribution models.

General partner Jay Chi stated that the firm remains committed to backing founders despite shifts in the market. The fourth fund serves as a direct extension of this strategy, prioritizing companies that demonstrate long-term viability. Michael Cheung, also a general partner, emphasized that the firm intends to offer flexible support, including equity and project financing, to help founders navigate the current industry climate and build durable businesses for the future.
