Harrison Ford is returning to the role of Indiana Jones for a new project at Walt Disney World. The 84-year-old actor confirmed his participation in a pre-taped message shared during the D23 convention in Anaheim.
The project is a new attraction titled Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent. It is currently under construction at the Animal Kingdom park. The ride replaces the former Dinosaur attraction in the space previously known as Dinoland, U.S.A. Disney officials announced that the new experience will feature a complete overhaul of the interior and exterior theming of the site.
Ford expressed his excitement about the project, telling attendees that he is the actual model for the ride. This expansion is part of a larger plan for the park. The former Dinoland area is transitioning into a new section called Tropical Americas. This location will also include an indoor ride themed around the movie Encanto.
This development is one of several large investments Disney is making in its parks worldwide. The company is working on multiple new projects, including a Villains Land at the Magic Kingdom and a Cars-themed expansion. These changes signal a move to refresh existing park infrastructure with popular film properties. Fans can expect to see these new additions roll out starting in 2027.
