Mahershala Ali Confirms He’s Not Doing Marvel’s ‘Blade’: “They Didn’t Want to Do It”
Mahershala Ali has officially stepped away from the long-gestating Blade reboot. The two-time Oscar winner confirmed that he will not play the iconic character, putting to rest years of speculation regarding his involvement in the Marvel project. Ali made the announcement in a recent interview, suggesting the studio ultimately chose not to move forward with the production.

Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige previously admitted on a podcast that he felt like a failure regarding the studio's inability to get the Blade film off the ground. The project faced several hurdles, including multiple director changes and delays that pushed the release date indefinitely. This news follows other recent shakeups at Marvel, including the cancellation of the series Wonder Man.
